Indoor play arena project reveal

We're excited to announce...

We are excited to finally disclose what we have been busy working on behind the scenes over this past year. Unconventional Design were asked to take on the mammoth task of the build and finishing of the entirely bespoke play equipment for one of Europe’s largest indoor play centres to be unveiled at Stockeld Park.

Featured in The Times newspaper, the £3.5m project is set to be a fantastic play centre full of completely one off play pieces specially considered for all ages to enjoy. The enormous donut shaped building will be split into four play zones; space, aviation, underwater and jungle completed with a purpose built central tower.

We were thrilled to be asked to be a part of such a ground breaking project in the UK and a one of a kind venue in the heart of Yorkshire. As well as leading the finishing of  all the equipment our Director Clare has designed full scale wall murals to feature on the interior walls in the play space spanning up to 30ft high.

Director James plays a pivital role in the project managing of the play equipment build elements working alongside Stockeld Park, Steelline, Tay play and Sutcliffes construction to help deliver the project successfully.

Built in an onsite workshop the project came to a halt in March 2020 due to Covid but thanks to the determination of the Stockeld Park owners production started back in September.  A big thanks go to the Stockeld Park team for putting their faith in us once more and trusting us with such a unique project.

We can’t wait to reveal more of what we have been working on so make sure to keep an eye on us on Instagram and Facebook for up to date information on all the latest goings on.

Bespoke is what we do best!
